Exploring different ways of creating a narrative using a digital approach.
My research will be an exploration into different ways of creating a narrative, digitally. This can be through the use of many different digitals programs. My main goal is to produce a digitally interactive comic using Flash. This comic can be structured as a non-linear narrative, so in essence it shall be a hyper-comic. This was supposed to be added onto the previous post (to the clip), however my laptop could not handle the size of the frames and kept crashing each time I attempted to clip it on. I should hopefully be able to find a system able to handle these problems.

I did another stop motion, this was meant to be longer but flash kept crashing when I was putting it together, don’t think it can handle the image size and the frames. Gonna have to look into putting them together elsewhere. Enjoy though
After doing some research into stop motion I decided to have a small experiment with it. I like how it turned out despite how unrefined I am it. Hopefully I can continue to play around with it and continue with stop motion to improve and possibly make more detailed animated shorts.
So far I’ve done a fair few rota-scopes, however all the content/clips I’ve been using is copyrighted to its productions. So I invested in a camcorder, hopefully with this I will be able to record my own clips, using angles I wish to use, scenes I would’ve somehow directed. Hopefully this will improve the quality of work I produce and give me a more experimental way of finding a way to work.
V for Vendetta
V for Vendetta, completed version of the clip. I wanted to use a single colour to express this scecne. I think it works, the red represents anger, shock, fear, despair etc…
Rota-scop experiments
A bunch of rota-scopes After doing the previous rota scopes I wanted to have a go at doing a few more with clips I found on tumblr again. I experimented with colour with the first one. I didn't realise that I was meant to lock the pixels once I had finished colouring so when you save it as a gif it won't show the anchor points. The one below it was one with more colour, which did prove time consuming despite the use of only 4 colours. The last rota scope took the longest since I thought I want to get more fluid with the movement and have it more consistant. The line work took a while as did the colouring but I like the end result.
Do the Dougie
First try at rota-scoping.I used a clip that I found on tumblr to do this, it looked like it would be fun to animate which it was. Proved to be an interesting first try, I didn't know what I was doing just that I wanted to add line to it and see if I could imitate their movements as fluidly as the original clip.
